Leading the way with practical exercises in Davos
Participants who joined AORecon at the AO Davos Courses in December 2018 benefited considerably from the hands-on training on offer in the two-day Complex and Revision Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Course and in the three-day Periprosthetic Fracture Management Course.
Even outside these courses, AORecon's practical exercises were a hot topic. The new AORecon Skills Lab on hip and knee replacement was introduced to a broader audience by co-developer Philipp von Roth and Michael Huo, member of the AORecon Education Forum. During a live webcast, they presented some of the ten stations, including procedures and learning outcomes.
Training crucial surgical steps of joint replacement surgery, the Skills Lab is part of AORecon's arthroplasty principles course that will be held 16 times in locations across the globe in 2019. This course is a unique educational offering and sparks significant interest among local course organizers and orthopedic surgeons.
Based on this success, AORecon will develop additional training modules to be included in its curriculum courses.
