AO Recon surgeons look forward to a strong presence at DKOU 2019
The German Congress of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (DKOU 2019) is widely recognized as one of the world's leading forums for knowledge transfer around cutting-edge research and its specialties.
The AO, a regular at the event since 2004, offers participants a taste of its renowned educational prowess at this year's meeting. Read more about AO's DKOU 2019 presence. AO Recon will make a considerable contribution to this year's DKOU with both an ambitious scientific program and multiple other learning opportunities for all those present.
AO Recon's scientific program
An all-day symposium featuring four specific sessions will be held in room Festsaal on October 23, during which a top-class faculty panel will address total hip and knee arthroplasty, including primary and revision surgery. The morning will be dedicated to the knee and the afternoon session—in collaboration with the Chinese Orthopedic Association (COA)—will focus on the hip.
Between the morning and the afternoon sessions, all congress participants are invited to join a casual lunch reception, from 12:30-13:30.
Another intense session will take place on the next day, October 24, also in room Festsaal, in collaboration with AO Trauma. Surgeons from both specialties will focus on periprosthetic fractures of the knee. View detailed program. Further interesting learning experiences await visitors at the AO booth
(hall 2.2 booth 20).
AO Recon Skills Lab showcase
AO Recon offers an exclusive look at its innovative Skills Lab, usually reserved only for AO Recon course participants who perform specific surgical hip and knee arthroplasty steps in a tour of various stations. One of the stations, alignment of the tibial cut, will be exhibited all day Thursday at the AO booth
(hall 2.2 booth 20), and showcased by codeveloper Philipp von Roth from 12:45–14:15.
Learn more and win
The AO booth staff invites visitors to learn more about the AO’s global surgeon network and to get involved. Guests can test their knowledge of gap balancing in total knee arthroplasty and vie to win a power bank and other useful gadgets.
